Eco-responsible production plants
Our daily priorities: save water and energy, reduce our emissions and preserve the natural environment. The impacts of our industrial activity are minimized through a reduced consumption of non-polluting energies (electricity), but also through our daily efforts to recover heat (heat exchanger) and save water (closed circuit).
Save energy
Our manufacturing processes need steam output. For this, each plant is equipped with performing energetic networks.
The energy recovery and the consumption control are a priority.
To optimize this consumption and reduce the energetic losses made by the manufacturing process, we recover heat emitted by the machines to heat the water in the boiler and therefore reduce the consumption.
The ongoing improvement process helps to optimize these exchanges to limit the CO2, NOx and COV emissions.
Thanks to the closed circuits, nearly 100% of the energetic losses are recovered.
Save water and reduce rejection
Water is today one of the most precious resources. The constraints are getting more severe in terms of water pumping in natural environments (drilling in water table) and/or in terms of the use of tap water and the rejection in the nature.

That’s the reason why, like for the energetic network, our plants tend to work in closed circuits: we recycle the water of the processes to reduce the consumption of natural water.
There is no water pollution to be found, on the surface or subsurface, around our plants.
The atmospheric and liquid emissions are practically nonexistent during the transformation process; they are in very low and controlled limits.
Today, 2 KNAUF Industries sites are certified ISO 14001: Dreux (France) and Manaus (Brazil).
This approach has started on all our production plants.
Valorize production scraps
The production scraps and the material skeletons are easily reintroduced into the manufacturing process.
The follow-up of the constantly optimized production waste guarantees a rigorous respect of the traceability, the processing and the elimination.
We invite you to share with us your preoccupations in terms of environmental impact, and we commit to help you find a durable solution for packaging wastes.
